Senior Center Advisory Council <br />Monday, July 17, 2006 <br />10 am Senior Center 350 Evans <br />Present were: Lois Swanson, Millicent Busch, Gail Johnson, June Fenstra, Annette <br />Bonin, Sue Kostanshek, Jay Grammond, Rita Waxon, Tiffany Beckman <br />I. Sue called the meeting to order at 10 am. Minutes reviewed. <br />II. Financial statement — reviewed. <br />III. Old Business <br />A. July Main Event — Garden Party, co -sponsored with dining site, <br />on June 27th. Music provided by the Senior Center. <br />B. Review of July Events — Relay for Life bake sale coming up. <br />Also, Crossroads shopping on 7/25 and Safety First on 7/27 <br />C. Silvertones Report - July and Aurst off. <br />D. Community Ed. Report — Sept. 7 3-8 pm Handke Open House. <br />Fall classes planned include sewing, adult dance and defensive <br />driving. <br />E. August Main Event National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug.I't. Co- <br />sponsored with GA housing. Free hot dog dinner. Visit and <br />prizes by ERPD. <br />F. Other — Cookbook is at the publisher <br />IV. New Business <br />A. Other Events in the Area — Handke Open house on 9/7. <br />B. Outings — Crossroads trip on 7/25, Lady of the Lakes 8/3, State <br />Fair on 8/31. MN History Center on 9/12, Waconia on 10/25, <br />Crossroads on 11/14, Turtle Lake on 12/6 <br />C. September Main Event — "Birthday Bash". Special <br />Recognition for those over 90 years. Decorations could include <br />flowers, birthstones and trivia for each month. Door prizes — put <br />your name in a box for your birthday month. <br />D. Other — none <br />V.
