Senior Center Advisory Council <br />Monday, September 18, 2006 <br />10 am Senior Center 350 Evans <br />Present were: Lois Swanson, Millicent Busch, Gail Johnson, Sue Kostanshek, Jay <br />Grammond, Rita Waxon, Linda Hj elmstad, June Fenstra, Clinton Yancey, Charlotte Strei, <br />and Annette Bonin <br />I. Sue called the meeting to order at 10 am. Minutes reviewed. <br />II. Financial statement — reviewed. <br />III. Old Business <br />A. September Main Event — Birthday Bash and music jam on Wed. 9113 was <br />successful. Approx. 150 attended, about 18 of those were "over 90"s <br />guests of honor. <br />B. Review of September Events — Still to come; PlanningAhead seminar on <br />the 27tn and 28tn, Cookbook Tasting event on Sept. 28tn , NewComers <br />Party on Sept 21st <br />C. Silvertones Report — Several new members this fall. Usual performance at <br />GACC. <br />D. Community Ed. Report — Handke Open House was very successful, about <br />500 attended. Fall classes starting, limit of 35 on Def. Driving classes. <br />E. October Main Event — Oktoberfest on Thursday, 10- 19. Cost $4, includes <br />meal, German music and door prizes. Cookbooks and German food items <br />as door prizes. <br />F. Other — Cookbooks 2nd printing ordered. <br />1V. New Business <br />A. Other Events in the Area — Oct. 26tn is GA Presidents Club dinner. <br />Meatball Dinner on Oct. 26tn. Harvest Festival on Oct. 25tn at Pine Tree <br />Manor in Zimmerman — all srs. invited. CAER spaghetti dinner on Oct. 15tn <br />B. Outings —New outing added — "Bodyworlds" on Thursday, Nov. 301n. <br />C. November Main Event — Tues. Nov. 14tn CAER Fundraiser.
