Senior Center Advisory Council <br />Wednesday, January 17, 2006 <br />10 am Senior Center 350 Evans <br />Present were: Holly VanderVelden, Mary Heck, Jay Grammond, Millicent Busch, Millie <br />Miller, June Fenstra, Sue Kostanshek, Charlotte Strei, and Annette Bonin <br />I. Sue called the meeting to order at 10 am. Minutes reviewed. <br />II. Financial statement — No Financial statement <br />III. Old Business <br />A. January Main Event — Winter Gala will be Thurs. Jan. 18`". Co -sponsored <br />with Senior Dining. Entertainment by Manuel from Community Ed. <br />Senior Center will pay for appetizers and door prizes. <br />B. Review of January Events — Legal Service Seminar on Jan. 5`". The mayor <br />was a guest speaker at the writing group on Jan. 16`". Fashion Show on <br />Jan. 301". "Forward to the Future" meeting on Jan. 30`" <br />C. Silvertones Report —January 18`" performance at River Oaks in Anoka. <br />Headstart kids will come on Feb. 151" and 16`". Performance in Ramsey on <br />April 261". One new member! <br />D. Community Ed. Report —There will be a WWII history night April 18`". <br />Looking for AARP teachers. Possible senior aqua fitness class in summer. <br />E. February Main Event Not determined yet, will check with dining site. <br />F. Other — Sue and Annette working on DHS Renovation Grant. <br />IV. New Business <br />A. Other Events in the Area — Feb. 81" — Fundraiser for Pam Steuve at <br />Rockwoods from 5 — 8 pm. WWII History on April 18`". Garden Expo on <br />April 281". <br />B. Outings — Feb. Turtle Lake Casino trip is full. Old Log Theater in March is <br />also full. Extended tours will be offered. There is a travel show on Feb. 131" <br />with information on the extended tours. <br />C. March Main Event — Lions Pancake Dinner on Thurs. March 22na <br />D. Other —None. <br />V. Next Council Meeting — Wednesday, Feb. 21" at 10 AM <br />VI. Newsletter — Being printed. <br />VII Adjourn- <br />
