Senior Center Advisory Council <br />Monday, April 16, 2007 <br />10 am Senior Center 350 Evans <br />Present were: June Fenstra, Jay Grammond, Millicent Busch, Mary Heck, Millie Miller, <br />Clinton Yancey, Lois Swanson, Gail Johnson, Charlotte Strei, Holly VanderVelden, Sue <br />Kostanshek and Annette Bonin <br />I. Sue called the meeting to order at 10 am. Minutes were reviewed. <br />II. Financial statement — Reviewed. <br />III. Old Business <br />A. April Main Event — Volunteer Party, April 24, planned by staff. <br />B. Review of April Events — Legal Service Seminar topic for April 201h is <br />"Grandparents Rights". Brunch & Learn, "NPH" video was very <br />interesting. Diabetic support group still going well. Writing workshop <br />planned for April 17th. New people attended the computer club. <br />C. Silvertones Report — Lions Park performance on June 21". Union Church <br />performance on June 241h <br />D. Community Ed. Report —Upcoming events are WWII History Night (over <br />60 registered) and Garden Expo. <br />E. May Main Event — May is Older Americans Month. Tuesday, My 24th is <br />MN Senior America Talent Show at 1:15pm. Also, Wed. May 30t is the <br />Annual Older Am. Month Celebration at Vintage Grill in Monticello. <br />Senior Center Week has been changed to September. Theme may be <br />"Extreme Aging". <br />F. Other — RSVP — Charlotte presented information on AAA discounts for <br />RSVP members. <br />IV. New Business <br />A. Other Events in the Area —Com. Ed. WWII History on April 181h, Garden <br />Expo on April 281h, Methodist Church Chow Mien Dinner April 26th, RSVP <br />banquet May 23`d, Art Soup June 23-241h <br />B. Outings — May 20th, Betty Rydell at Medina. June 261h, Uff-Da Tour on <br />June 26, St. John's Abbey Tour on July 31 St, MN State Fair in August. <br />C. June Main Event — Red Hat Event on June 14th. Cook out with Cops on <br />June 27th <br />D. Other — none <br />V. Next Council Meeting — Monday, May 21st at 10 AM <br />VI. Newsletter — Done. <br />VII Adjourn- <br />
