Senior Center Advisory Council <br />Monday, December 17, 2007 <br />1:15 pm Senior Center 350 Evans <br />Present were: Gail Johnson, Mary Heck, June Fenstra, Lois Swanson, Charlotte <br />Strei, Jay Grammond, Sue Kostanshek and Annette Bonin <br />I. Sue called the meeting to order at 1 pm. Minutes were reviewed. <br />11. Financial statement — Reviewed. $100 will be transferred from <br />Silvertones fund to Piano Key Donations. <br />III. Old Business <br />A. December Main Event — No co -sponsored brunch with Santa as the <br />Senior Center is closed on Monday, Dec. 24tn , the day of the dining <br />site brunch. <br />B. Review of Nov/Dec. Events — Limited events due to moving, hiring, <br />annual report and budget deadlines. New program "Sharing Faith" <br />started and was very successful. Greeting card classes continue to <br />be very popular. <br />C. Silvertones Report — Optional 3rd practice on the 3rd Monday each <br />month has been very helpful. Busy with performances in December <br />including; First Friends 12/12, Twin Lakes Church 12/14, Zion <br />Church 12/08, Dining Site 12/20 and Ramsey Srs on 12/27. <br />D. Community Ed. Report — New brochure out on Dec. 26., includes <br />indoor walking, WWII series, beginning bridge and a Saturday <br />sampler class program. <br />E. January Main Event — Co -sponsored event on Sat. Jan. 26tn at 2pm <br />with Floyd Oleson. Music by Town & Country Jammers. Also co- <br />sponsored Italian Festival with Senior Dining on Wed. Jan 16tn <br />F. Other — Reminder that programs will continue at 350 Evans site as <br />usual. It is important to put forth a positive attitude towards those <br />that are concerned about new sight and changes. The newsletter <br />will now have two calendars — one for each site. <br />IV. New Business <br />A. Other Events in the Area — Feb. 7tn —Volunteer Opportunity Expo <br />4:30 — 6:30 at the Activity Center hosted by Volunteer Bridge. <br />B. Outings — Doug Gabriel show on Jan. 18tn. Omni Theater in March, <br />no date yet. <br />C. February Main Event — To be determined. Suggestion for <br />Cookbook/Apron Party. <br />D. Other — None. <br />V.,Next Council Meeting —Tuesday, Jan. 22"d at 1:15pm at the new <br />Activity Center <br />VI. Newsletter — <br />VII Adjourn- <br />
