Maybe a tunnel could go in under Hwy 10 and t he tracks at Jac k s on and mak e Jac k s on pedestrian only. Then, move the parking to t he north side of the trac k s . That frees up Downtown for more shops. There's plenty of room between Jacks on and Irv ing on Railroad Drive. 9/12/2024 12:29 PM 9 The bridge over the river has terrible ac c es s to downtown. I t's hard to s ee what is c oming when turning lef t from the bridge. Traffic thru town and pas t the bridge goes way too fast. The stoplights should be replaced with roundabouts and if possible there should be an ov erhaul and redesign of the streets and park ing. 9/6/2024 2:36 PM 14 I do not want unique plac es to be torn down to hav e c ookie cutter apartment buildings put up. I want the charm of Elk River to stay the way it is . I would like a c ouple more rest aurants and cute s hops to mov e in there. Fix the river shoreline by adding proper v egetation. 9/6/2024 6:49 AM 16 Intersect ion at J ac kson and Hwy 10 is ex tremely dangerous, especially driv ing S on Jacks on towards downtown - c ars constant ly get locked up in t he int ers ec tion and are unable to go straight t hrough while waiting for turning c ars. Take out parking in front of busines ses there and create turn lanes!! So many accidents and near misses at that inters ec tion. 9/5/2024 10:29 PM 17 Please prov ide bat hrooms not s atellites. Other communit ies do…What c an be done about t he blind left t urn onto Main Street from Parrish- horrible, get rid of a park ing spot to inc reas e safety.
