Any manager or Director who receives <br />a report under this policy is required to communicate the matter to the Human Resources <br />Representative immediately. <br /> <br /> <br />5. HARASSMENT PROHIBITED <br /> <br />All Utilities employees have a right to work in an environment free from discrimination <br />and intimidation, including harassment. The mission of the Utilities is best accomplished <br />in an atmosphere of professionalism that in turn is supported by mutual respect and trust. <br />The Utilities expects all employees to work toward this goal. Harassment based on a <br />person’s race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender <br />identity, disability, age, marital status, genetic information, status with regard to public <br />assistance, veteran status or any other protected class status may be unlawful and is strictly <br />prohibited by the Utilities. <br /> Definitions of Sexual and Other Forms of Harassment <br /> <br />Harassment consists of unwelcome conduct based on a person’s race (inclusive of traits <br />associated with race, including but not limited to hair texture and hair styles such as braids, <br />locs and twists), color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender <br />identity, disability, age, marital status, genetic information, status with regard to public <br />assistance, veteran status, or any other protected class status that is interfering with your <br />job performance, or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment; or <br />when submission to such conduct is: <br />• a condition of employment; or <br />• a basis for an employment decision affecting your job. <br />One form of prohibited harassment is sexual harassment. Sexual harassment includes <br />unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, sexually motivated physical <br />contact or other verbal or physical conduct or communication of a sexual nature that is <br />interfering with your job performance, or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive <br />work environment; or when submission to such conduct is made: <br />• a condition of employment; or <br />• a basis for an employment decision affecting your job. <br />The Utilities prohibits sexual harassment of any type and in any form, including verbal, <br />physical, and visual harassment. Some examples of conduct that may be sexual harassment <br />include: <br />73
