Medical Emergency <br />Response to any illness, injury, accident situation: <br />1. First person at the scene will (provided the scene is safe): <br />a. Check injured person(s) to assess level of injury and secure the scene. <br />b. If severe or life threatening: Dial 911. <br />c. Identify yourself to the dispatcher. <br />d. Location of this facility. (See Appendix) <br />e. Share as much information as possible with dispatcher: <br />i. Time of injury/illness <br />ii. History and/or mechanism of injury or illness if known (what happened) <br />i i i. Suspected injury or illness <br />iv. Injured person's present condition (level of consciousness, breathing, etc.) <br />v. Status of current medical assistance (CPR/1st Aid/AED certified) <br />vi. Specific location of injured or ill person. (Which field) <br />f. Allow the dispatcher to hang up first. <br />g. If possible, send someone to meet the ambulance. <br />h. Begin emergency care if needed. <br />i. If the injured person is under 18, contact the parent(s) /legal guardian immediately. <br />j.
