City Council MinutesPage 3 of 5 <br />January 21, 2025 <br />--------- <br />6.1City of Elk River Volunteer of the Month <br />Mayor Dietz presented the January Volunteer of the Month award to Karen Korthauer. He highlighted <br />the following: <br />Weekly volunteer at CAER for two years. <br />An ideal front desk person for CAER with a warm and welcoming personality. <br />Works with others in distributing CAER Kids Weekend packages. <br />Involved with CAER's Trot O'Gold 5K and Shoe Bus events. <br />Part of Central Lutheran Church Hospitality team for several years. <br />Helps to oversee Central Lutheran's Christmas Cheer outreach ministry. <br />Volunteered at her church and her daughter's school in Savage before moving to Elk River. <br />7.PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />7.1Preliminary Plat and Resolution 25-06 for Final Plat: Norrgard Wooded Acres, PID 75-00937-0110, <br />Chaz Norrgard <br />The staff report was presented. <br />Mayor Dietz opened the public hearing. There being no one to speak to this matter, Mayor Dietz closed <br />the public hearing. <br />The Council discussed allowing a 15-foot easement instead of a 30-foot easement. Mr. Leeseberg said <br />there may have been some confusion at the Parks and Recreation Commission between an easement <br />and the Right-of-Way. Staff felt that 15 feet was sufficient. <br />Moved by Councilmember Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve <br />the preliminary plat for Norrgard Wooded Acres. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Moved by Councilmember Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Grupa to adopt <br />Resolution 25-06 approving the final plat of Norrgard Wooded Acres with the following <br />conditions, changing Condition number two to a 15-foot trail easement: <br />1. Park Dedication Fees shall be paid for two dwelling units at the rate applicable when the <br />subdivision is released for recording. <br />2. A 15-foot trail easement within the front yards of the parcels along Jarvis Street shall be <br />prepared by the applicant and recorded along with the final plat. Motion carried 5-0. <br />8.GENERAL BUSINESS <br />8.1Information Security Subcommittee Appointment <br />Moved by Councilmember Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to appoint <br />Councilmember Calva to the Information Security Committee. Motion carried 5-0. <br />9.MOTION TO ADJOURN REGULAR MEETING <br />Moved by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Grupa to adjourn the <br /> <br />
