��i <br />Elk River <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Sara Youngs —Administrations Director <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />January 14, 2025 <br />6.1b <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Office walk-in traffic for December consisted of 159 customers, averaging 40 customers <br />per week over the four -week period. <br />• The office saw 1,779 walk-in customers for the year ending 2024, an increase of 309 <br />customers compared to 2023. <br />• ERMU disconnections for December: The Cold Weather Rule is in effect, meaning <br />customers cannot be disconnected until 30 days after they receive their disconnection <br />notice. <br />o Cycle 4 — 6 disconnections <br />o Cycle 3 — 4 disconnections <br />• During the month of December 2024, the customer service team entered 47 payment <br />arrangements with customers. During December 2023 there were 50 payment <br />arrangements. <br />• A substantial amount of staff time is spent on the Advanced Metering Infrastructure <br />project, including daily follow-ups with customers, as well as coordination with both <br />internal and external team members. <br />• The IT department is prioritizing initiatives for 2025. <br />• Currently there are nine active residential solar photovoltaic projects planned or under <br />construction in the ERMU service territory. <br />• In the last 30 days, combined the level two charger located downtown and in the <br />parking lot in front of ERMU had 20 sessions and provided customers with 388 kWh of <br />green energy. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />77 <br />
