of <br />City of Elk River <br />Ver City Council <br />Resolution 24-44 <br />A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Disbanding the Elk <br />River Library Board. <br />WHEREAS, The Elk River Public Library Board was established to oversee the physical <br />facility, outside grounds and to promote the best possible use of library resources; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2005, the Library Board played a key role in the review and planning for a <br />newly constructed library; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board annually reviewed the Library Budget and made recommendations <br />for capital improvements and supplementary materials and equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, at the July 2024 Regular Meeting of the Elk River Library Board, the board <br />unanimously voted to recommend the disbanding of the Library Board citing the Board had <br />served its purpose and library and city staff have well positioned the library to serve the <br />needs of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Library Board Members felt they could better support the library by other <br />means including as members of the Friends of the Library or volunteering directly. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk <br />River, Minnesota, as follows: that the Elk River Public Library Board discontinue their <br />service by disbanding the board. <br />Passed and adopted this 5th day of August 2024. <br />ATTEST: <br />Tina Allard, City Clerk <br />John J.
