He consults in the areas of law <br />enforcement, public safety, emergency management services, and 9-1-1 communications <br />centers. Chief Fehlman has conducted over 25 police chief, public safety and <br />communications directors recruitments. Chief Fehlman has conducted 10 assessment <br />centers for GovHR and additional assessment centers with his own private company. He <br />has participated in over 50 staff studies and classification/compensation studies for GovHR. <br />Chief (Ret.) Jon Fehlman's community oriented career has been through police service and <br />other community -based services. His commitment to forging relationships that last a lifetime <br />and strengthen communities led to his recognition by the International Community Oriented Policing <br />Conference with their James Q. Wilson award. <br />Chief Fehlman is the owner of Thatcher Lewis, LLC based in Murfreesboro, TN. He works with police <br />departments to facilitate the discussions of the issues facing law enforcement and the community. He has <br />traveled throughout the United States speaking and teaching law enforcement in association with the FBI Law <br />Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI LEEDA). His greatest professional passion is helping <br />leaders lead and develop others. Chief Fehlman provides leadership training through all levels of organizations. <br />He serves on the advisory board of the Institute for American Police Reform (IAPR) non -partisan organization <br />providing guidance on policing laws and policies, police accountability and partnerships in the community, <br />leadership development, and police standards and training development. <br />Chief Fehlman has extensive experience in police officer involved critical incidents. He has investigated incidents <br />from both the administrative and criminal perspective. He has served on the board of directors for National <br />Alliance for Mental Illness -Sonoma County and engaged his communities on mental health and policing <br />relationships.
