��i <br />Elk River <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Dave Ninow —Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />November 12, 2024 <br />6.01h <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Delivered 16 new water meters, installed a Smart Point radio transceiver module, and <br />took curb stop ties. <br />• Completed 20 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br />• Completed 23 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />• Brenteson Companies assisted us with installation of an air release valve on the water <br />main in the cul-de-sac of 196th Circle and a manhole structure over it. The air relief <br />valve will ensure that any entrained air in the water system is automatically released to <br />eliminate issues that have been identified in this area of excessive air in residential <br />plumbing. Water service to residents was not interrupted for the installation. <br />• The initial service line material inventory of all service connections in the water <br />distribution system submitted to MDH has been reviewed and approved. Public water <br />systems must provide notification to consumers of the availability of the service line <br />materials inventory. Public water systems must also provide notification to consumers <br />that are served by galvanized service lines requiring replacement and material unknown <br />service lines. Notifications will be provided by the November 15 deadline. <br />• SEH staff is test pumping an ERMU monitoring well located on 1981h Avenue to <br />determine potential flow capacity and water quality of a future municipal well at that <br />site. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />• October 2024 Pumping by Well <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />162 <br />
