��i <br />Elk River , <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Thomas Geiser —Operations Director <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />October 8, 2024 <br />6.1e <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Working through the second round of maps for the new GIS mapping system that we <br />plan to move forward with in the future. <br />• Attending Advanced Metering Infrastructure meetings weekly with other ERMU staff. <br />• Working through 2025 projects and 2025 equipment/material needs. <br />• There is one month left of Highway 169 Redefine meetings. <br />• Working on the 2025 Capital/Expense Budget along with the 2025 Wire Bid. <br />• Working with staff on our future East substation project. <br />• Working with staff on pole attachment agreements. <br />• Working with staff on security/streetlight service agreements and the 2025 Fee <br />Schedule. <br />• Starting the design process of the Highway 169 overhead rebuild from the North <br />substation to the landfill. We will be replacing the poles and the 4/0 aluminum <br />conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) lines with new poles and 336 ASCSR. This will take a <br />few winters to complete. <br />• Working with city staff on the timing for ERMU to install the wreaths on the downtown <br />Elk River streetlights. We are currently planning for the week of November 18. <br />• On September 18, Technical Service Superintendent Mike Tietz and I attended the <br />Central Municipal Power Agency/Services Meeting in St. Peter, MN. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
