��i <br />Elk River , <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Chris Sumstad — Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />August 13, 2024 <br />6.1f <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Installed 11 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br />• Crews energized the Cornerstone Auto electric vehicle chargers this month. Multiple <br />level 2 and 3 chargers are present at this site. <br />• Work continues installing electric infrastructure into Anna Acres, a new 50-lot <br />development being constructed south of 65t" Avenue in Otsego. <br />• Crews replaced a 600-amp underground switchgear cabinet at County Road 13 and <br />Viking Boulevard. <br />• Two of our lineworkers helped Connexus Energy with outage restoration on Sunday, July <br />14, after a few rounds of stormy weather the previous evening. <br />• Installed a new three phase service to a future auto shop in Otsego near Target. <br />• Three field staff helped at Elk River's Summer Safety Camp held at City Hall, July 9. <br />• Crews continue to replace older high-pressure sodium streetlights with newer LED <br />• Jay Reading from Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association was here July 22 and <br />provided safety training on lightning protection and grounding best practices. <br />• Crews continue to perform maintenance on both the underground and overhead <br />systems, addressing issues found during our annual equipment checks this past winter. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />110 <br />
