<br />Meeting of the Beautification and Public <br />Art Committee <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />Monday, June 17, 2024 <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Commissioner Dan Tveite, Committee Member Ryan Hardin, Councilmember <br />Jennifer Wagner, Committee Member Melissa McAlpine, Committee Member <br />Deb Hjermstad <br /> <br />Members Absent: Committee Member Nic Hahn <br /> <br />Staff Present: Economic Development Specialist Josh Mollan, Economic Development Director <br />Brent O'Neil, and Senior Planner Chris Leeseberg <br /> <br />1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting was called to order at 4:36 p.m. by Josh. <br /> <br />2. CONSIDER AGENDA <br /> Moved by Dan and seconded by Ryan to approve the agenda. Motion 4-0. <br /> <br />3. CONSIDER MINUTES <br /> <br /> 3.1 May 20th Meeting Minutes <br /> Moved by Ryan and seconded by Jennifer to approve the May 20 , 2024 meeting minutes. <br />Motion 4-0. <br /> <br />4. GENERAL BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 4.1 Public Art Project <br /> Josh shared that the EDA will consider the agreement with Carey Dean following this meeting. <br /> <br />(Deb joined at 4:37 p.m.) <br /> <br />Josh asked the committee their preference on meeting dates and time to show Carey the natural areas <br />of Elk River to serve as inspiration for her art piece. <br /> <br />The committee was in favor of meeting during our next scheduled meeting time. <br /> <br />Josh shared that he has been in contact with the city attorney on connecting with businesses to raise <br />the last $2,000 for the project.
