��i <br />Elk River , <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Mike Tietz - Technical Services Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />June 4, 2024 <br />6.1g <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• In May, the locators processed approximately 550 locate tickets. These consisted of 460 <br />normal tickets, 6 emergency tickets, 54 updated tickets, 18 cancellations, 4 meets, 6 <br />boundary surveys and 2 non -excavations. This resulted in a 14.1% increase in tickets <br />from the previous month and is a 16.2% decrease from the prior May. <br />• Electrical technicians completed approximately 350 service order tasks, updated the <br />power bill, addressed customer meter issues and any off-peak concerns. <br />• The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) residential water meters and residential <br />electric meters continue to be installed in new services. The electrical technicians have <br />been busy changing from our Automated Meter Reading meters to AMI around the <br />system and recently completed the meter installations at the second Delta apartments <br />building. The TKDA inspector has begun random inspections of Allegiant's water meter <br />installations to make sure that the contractor is performing the work to ERMU's <br />standards and following the contract. <br />• For the month of May, staff ran generators at the power plant. <br />• Staff started annual substation maintenance in May, spraying herbicide to minimize <br />vegetation. Also, soil borings for East substation were completed. <br />• Connexus Energy utilized their feeder tie out of our North substation to backfeed part of <br />their load while they performed the five-year maintenance on their Zimmerman <br />substation. <br />• Great River Energy continues to utilize their feeder tie at Station #14, bank 3 substation. <br />They have indicated that they plan to use this tie through the month of May. <br />ATTACHMENT: <br />• Reliability Statistics— Follow Up from May Commission Meeting <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />134 <br />
