��i <br />Elk River , <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Chris Sumstad — Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />June 4, 2024 <br />6.1f <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Installed 10 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br />• Joe Schmidt, safety instructor from Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association, was here <br />on May 29 and May 30 and held safety training on Pole Top/Bucket Rescue and <br />performed on site visits at work locations. <br />• Crews assisted Ames Construction on the Highway 169 Redefine Project, as they were <br />installing stormwater pipes under four underground feeders that cross the highway near <br />Station 14 Substation. <br />• Crews are working on underground replacement in the Sandpiper Addition, located east <br />of Sherburne County Courthouse. <br />• Crews installed 2000 feet of three phase underground primary and a three phase <br />transformer at Plaisted Companies for expansion of their mining operations. <br />• A utility contractor bored into one phase of an underground feeder line near the old <br />Salvation Army location. The damage was not severe enough to cause an outage, and <br />crews spliced the cable and returned to service. <br />• A new overhead three phase bank was installed for an irrigation pivot along 165tn <br />Avenue near the Cargill Complex. <br />• New construction continues in Otsego. We are currently installing a new three phase <br />service on Parkview Avenue to serve a childcare center. <br />• Our painting contractor, Bullfrog Industries, was on site the week of May 20 and painted <br />six streetlights, a three phase transformer, and three 600 amp switchgears. <br />• Our new Temporary Lineworker, Adam Jurek, started on May 28. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />133 <br />
