2. Employees move to the step based on years in position (capped at 9 <br />years). <br />For example: if an employee has been in their position with Elk River <br />Municipal Utilities for 4 years, they would be placed on Step 4. If that step <br />placement is less than their current salary, they would move to the closest <br />step without a decrease (Option 1). <br />3.
