<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 1, 1919 <br /> <br />st <br />Special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Office of the Elk River L Co on Friday the 1 <br />day of August 1919. <br /> <br />Members Present <br />J.H. Virgin, President <br />Bert Carr, Trustee <br />Wm Norval, Clerk <br />W.C. Buck Visitor <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. W.C. Buck Waterworks Engineering from Minneapolis being present he presented his contract <br />th <br />and propositions to the Council which was dated the 9 of July 1919 at which time he was employed <br />as engineer of the waterworks system in the Village of Elk River Minn but at that time the council <br />did not act upon the said contract because of having some clauses inserted in the <br />contract this having been done it was moved and seconded and declared carried by the president <br />that the Village Council accept the said contract from W.C. Buck and that the clerk have the same <br />approved and signed by the President and Village Clerk and also to have it certified by notary public <br />and that one copy of the same be sent to Mr. W.C. Buck Mpls and the other copy be filed in the <br />Office of the Village Clerk. <br /> <br />Moved by President and seconded by Bert Carr that the Clerk issue a warrant to the W.S. Nolt <br />Company of Minneapolis for the sum of one thousand dollars ($1000.00) the same to apply on the <br />th <br />purchase price of the Chemical Truck as per their contract of the 13 of May 1919. And also to <br />procure from them a Statement of the Balance due them to date on the said Chemical Truk. <br /> <br />The President instructed the Clerk to write to the Waterous Fire Engine Co of St Paul and ask them <br />th <br />to forward a Statement of the Balance due them on the Fire Engine purchased on August 11 1916 <br />as the Council were now prepared to pay the same. <br /> <br />Moved by J.H. Virgin and carried that the following bills be allowed and the clerk issue warrants to <br />pay the same. <br /> <br />1773 W.S.
