<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 8, 1919 <br /> <br />th <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council was held on Tuesday the 8 day of July 1919 <br /> <br />Members present were <br />John H. Virgin, President <br />Bert Carr, Trustee <br />Wm Norval, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order at 8:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Application from the Elk River Building Co for permission to close or block the sidewalk on the <br />north and east sides of the Babcock lot on corner of Depot and Princeton Streets as the company <br />were going to rebuild on this lot and wished to use the sidewalk for material to build with. The <br />following Resolution was passed and carried. <br /> <br />Resolved by the Village Council that a permit be granted to the said Elk River Building Co to close <br />th <br />the walks as per a written permit filed with the Village Clerk this 8 day of July 1919 and that said <br />permit be given for the time of the construction of said building and no longer. Motion by Bert Carr <br />and seconded by J.H. Virgin and carried that the following bills be allowed and the clerk issue <br />warrants to pay the same. <br /> <br />1733 Frank Ebner assessor for 1919 137.00 <br />1734 Bert Carr use of cart labor and expenses 21.00 <br />1735 E.H. Foley storage of fire engine 40.00 <br />1736 Elk River P&L Cr repairs 2.10 <br />1737 Walter S. Booth and Son election blanks and stationary 1.95 <br />1738 Geo H. Tyler attorney fees decree in Vassor case 50.00 <br />1739 J.T. Plante goods to Mrs. Geo Martineau 20.00 <br />1740 P.M. Morneau and Co mower and nails 18.66 <br />1741 John H. Virgin expenses to city and cash paid out 12.00 <br />1742 G.A. Pepin labor testing for water 12.00 <br />1743 Wm Norval paid exps. Special election 12.50 <br />1744 Wm Norval 3 months salary as clerk 18.75 <br />1745 expenses board of equalization 8.00 <br />1746 cash paid stamps expenses and city exps 6.47 <br />360.43 <br /> <br />Andrew Davis and J.H. Daly were present and asked the council what amount they would submit to <br />County Fair this fall. On motion of Bert Carr seconded by J.H. Virgin the following Resolution was <br />passed and declared carried by the President. <br /> <br />Resolved that the Village Council donate the sum of $200.00 to aid the County fair this fall 1919 and <br />that a warrant for the amt be drawn by the Clerk payable to the Treasurer of said County Fair. No <br />more business the Council adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
