<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 24, 1919 <br /> <br />A Special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Odd Fellows Hall on June 24, 1919 <br /> <br />Members present were <br />J.H. Virgin, President <br />Bert Carr, Trustee <br />Wm Norval, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order at 8:30 A.M. <br /> <br />This meeting was duly called to elect a moderator for special election held this day at 9 A.M. Moved <br />and seconded that J.H. Virgin be chosed as moderator of the Village meeting election. All voting <br />aye. Motion was carried. The moderator then stated the business of the meeting was for the purpose <br />of submitting to the electors of the Village to be by them voted upon Notice of which had been <br />given by law required. <br /> <br />The following propositions Copy of which is duly filed in the Office of the Village Clerk at 9 o’clock <br />the moderator declared the polls open and notice given of the same. Votring then was proceeded <br />with until 5 o’clock P.M. as per law when the moderator proclaimed the polls were closed and the <br />Judge of Election proceeded to canvas the votes given by ballot as required by law and continued <br />such canvas until the same was completed. The canvas being completed the result was ascertained <br />and determined by the judges to be as follows, for particulars see copy of the same filed in the <br />Office of the Village Clerk. <br /> <br />Results of Special Election held this the 24 day of June 1919 as per poll list No 1 and 2 <br /> <br />Proposition No. 1 Total Votes Cast 163 <br />Votes cast in favor of waterworks 139 <br />Votes cast against Waterworks 24 <br /> <br />Proposition No. 2 Total votes cast 163 <br />Votes cast in favor of bonds 140 <br />Votes cast again bonds 23 <br /> <br />Proposition No. 3 Total votes cast 163 <br />Votes cast in favor of bonds 142 <br />Votes cats against bonds 20 <br />Blank Ballots 1 <br /> <br />No further business meeting adjourned <br />Wm Norval <br />Clerk <br /> <br />th <br />June 24, 1919 <br /> <br /> <br />
