<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 21, 1919 <br /> <br />A Special meeting of the Villate Council was held at the Office of the Elk River Lumber Co on Apl <br />21 1919 at 8 P.M. <br /> <br />Members Present as follows. <br />J.H. Virgin President <br />E.J. Keegan Trustee <br />Bert Carr Trustee <br />Wm Norval Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President 8:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Application from the Elk River Garage asking permission to put up a filling station in the front for <br />their garage on Main Street. Motion made by the President, seconded by Bert Carr Trustee and <br />carried that the same be granted to the said Elk River Garage provided that the same be located six <br />(6) feet from the line. <br /> <br />Motion by E.J. Keegan Trustee and seconded by Bert Carr and carried that the sum of ten (10) <br />dollars be allowed to A.A. Opitz for rent of ground on the Princeton Road to be used as a dump <br />st <br />ground for all refuse for the period of one year from the 1 April 1919 to 1920 provided that the <br />Council fence the same and also compel those who use said ground to unload or deposit the refuse <br />inside the enclosure and no where else or a penalty will be imposed. <br /> <br />The Clerk was instructed by the Council that he print in the Star News the following Notice – <br />th <br />That all dog licenses must be paid on or before the 15 May 1919, after said <br />date the dog will be called upon to take up his duties. <br />Abv a notice that the dumping ground was now located and could ber used from now on, as <br />provided in said notice. <br /> <br /> <br />There being no more business Council adjourned <br />William Norval <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
