<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 8, 1919 <br /> <br />th <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council held at the Office of the Elk River Lumber Co on the 8 day <br />of April 1919 <br /> <br />Members Present <br />J.H. Virgin President <br />Bert Carr Trustee <br />Wm Norval Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President 8 P.M. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion of President and seconded by Carr, Trustee and <br />Carried that the Clerk issue orders for the payment of the same. <br /> <br />A Byson recording deed from W.F. Chadbourne 1.00 <br />Elk R Power and Light Co lamps 2.10 <br />Walter S. Booth and Co dog licenses 1.00 <br />Wm Norval dog checks from N.W. Stamp Works 3.05 <br />7.15 <br /> <br />Warranty deed from W.F. Chadbourne and Wife to the Village of Elk River for land purchased for <br />sheer purposes on the Jefferson Highway was duly accepted and ordered filed by the Village Clerk. <br />Moved by the President and seconded by Bert Carr Trustee that the Clerk notify the N.W. Phone <br />Co that they must either move the phone poles or clean out the rubbish and refuse that has <br />accumulated around said poles, as the same is considered dangerous from fire from passing trains <br />and otherwise, the above poles one located on the G.N. Ry track and between two potatoe <br />warehouses. <br /> <br />The matter of relaying the Plank on the Miss Steel Bridge known as Bridge No 668 was duly taken <br />up and discussed by the Council <br />Motion by J.H. Virgin President and seconded by Bert Carr Trustee that the Council proceed soon <br />as possible to have the same replanked and that the Village Clerk take steps to have contracts or bids <br />drawn up for the purchase of material for the same and that the said contractions or bidders be <br />obligated to unload the same from the can or cans to deliver the same material or the approach of <br />the said No. 668 Steel Bridge in the Village of Elk River. <br /> <br />There being no more business Council adjourned <br />William Norval <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
