Special Meeting of the Elk River EDA <br />Together Elk River Committee <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />Tuesday, February 20, 2024 <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Charlie Blesener, Joanna Arbic, and Jennifer Wagner <br /> <br />Members Absent: Debbi Rydberg, and Molly Nadeau <br /> <br />Staff Present: Economic Development Specialist Josh Mollan. Economic Development Director Brent <br />O’Neil, and Senior Communications Coordinator Starr Sorheim <br /> <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority <br />Together Elk River Subcommittee was called to order at 4:38 p.m. by Jennifer. <br /> <br />2. Consider Agenda <br /> <br />Moved by Charlie and seconded by Joanna to approve the agenda. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />3. Consider Minutes <br /> <br /> Charlie requested the second sentence in 4.2 be shortened after “construction”. <br /> <br /> Moved by Charlie and seconded by Joanna to approve January 16, 2024, Meeting Minutes as <br />amended. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />4.1 Billboard Update <br /> <br /> Josh provided Placer.ai data on the three potential billboard sites. <br /> <br /> Jennifer preferred the I-94 billboard if our goal is to market to more non-Elk River residents after <br />construction has concluded. She also suggested looking at how the Westbound Highway 10 traffic continues <br />after the traffic pin between heading north on Highway 169 and continuing on Highway 10. <br /> <br /> This item was tabled to discuss item 4.3 169 Redefine Update. <br /> <br />4.3 169 Redefine Update <br /> <br /> Starr provided an update to 169 Redefine. She stated that she will continue to advocate for business signage <br />with MnDOT. <br /> <br />4.1 Billboard Update (continued) <br /> <br /> Jennifer suggested that staff look into owning/renting a changeable copy sign. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
