4r,;.Z, <br />Elk Riv <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Chris Sumstad — Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />February 13, 2024 <br />6.1f <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Installed 11 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br />• Crews energized the three-phase service for the new Rinker Materials building. <br />• Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association's (MMUA) safety instructors were here on <br />January 18 and 19 to certify employees in First Aid/CPR. MMUA staff were also here on <br />January 31 and February 1 to train staff on Employee Right to Know, A Workplace <br />Accident and Injury Reduction program, Bloodborne Pathogens and Personal Protective <br />Equipment. <br />• Crews continue to tree trim and perform equipment checks and mapping updates on <br />the system. <br />• Lineworkers Matt Zipp and Blaine Snyder attended the MMUA Transformer School held <br />in Marshall, January 23-26. <br />• City staff have been performing department of transportation inspections on our trucks <br />and trailers this past month. Our staff has also been working on annual maintenance <br />and making repairs to our trenching and excavation equipment. <br />• We are planning our upcoming spring/summer construction schedule, putting together <br />the jobs and working on ordering the needed inventory. <br />• We had a three-phase pole struck by a vehicle on Dayton River Road south of Highway <br />101. Although broken, the line remained upright and energized, and crews were able to <br />change the pole without customers experiencing any outages. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />165 <br />
