<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 14, 1917 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of C.F. Fiman Pres on Wednesday <br />evening Nov 14, 1917 <br /> <br />Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, E.E. Scott, F.M. Plank and E.J. Keegan Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, <br />Clerk. <br />B.L. Hall (city scales) <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and declared carried by Pres <br />duly allowed <br />Elk River Lumber Co 564.04 <br />J.D. Adams Co 216.00 <br />Star News 25.00 <br />E.R. Garage 17.22 <br />C.E. Falk Co 3.46 <br />Waterous Engine Co 9.00 <br />John A Orton for M.E. Church 23.31 <br />A.A. Opitz 10.00 <br />Jos Ludvic 1.12 <br />Frank Hall 18.00 <br />Charles Bressler 9.00 <br />A.E. Bressler 6.00 <br />E. Anderson 6.00 <br />A.L. Stinson 6.00 <br />T.J. Latta 6.00 <br />C.F. Robbins 6.00 <br />W.F. Chadbourne freight ex and light bulbs 1.53 <br />B.L. Hall 153.00 <br /> <br />In regard to operating City Scales Mr. B.L. Hall made a proposition that operate scales for 1 year on <br />the percentage plan he to furnish lights and fuel and care for same except repairs and Village to <br />furnish Scale Book Jackets the said Hall to receive 66 2/3 of gross proceeds and Village to recure 33 <br />1/3 of proceeds. After some discussion a motion was made by F.M. Plank Trustee sec by E.E. Scott <br />Trustee that we accept said proposition motion put and declared carried by Pres B.L. Hall to <br />commence Nov 15, 1917 and continue one year. <br /> <br />Grover Malroupe asked for a license to operate a bowling alley in connection with his business on <br />motion duly made and declared carried request was granted. <br /> <br />In regard to Village Marshal the Village Clerk was ordered to notify the present Marshal E.L. Clark <br />that after Dec 1, 1917 his services would not be needed until further notice said Marshal to return <br />his equipment to Pres of Council on that date. <br /> <br /> <br />
