During <br />Work Session, we reviewed the specific projects, costs, funding sources, and 5-year cash flow projections. <br />The CIP is a strategic planning document that is re-evaluated annually and upon each review projects may be <br />deleted, added, or delayed, reflecting community needs and financing. <br />Approval of the CIP does not authorize spending or the initiation of a planned project. The City Council is <br />accepting and acknowledging the planning document with the provision that capital improvement planning is <br />subject to the dynamics of the community and other unanticipated needs. Projects presented in the CIP will <br />be brought to the Council for approval per the Financial Management Policy. <br />A few highlights of the CIP for 2024 include: <br />■ 2024 Street Improvement Project <br />■ Trail development — trail extensions and ADA improvements <br />■ Rolling Hills stormwater improvements <br />■ Lions Park playground <br />■ Equipment replacement includes a fire vehicle, police squads, and park & street maintenance <br />equipment. <br />Financial Impact <br />Projects and funding sources are identified in the 2024-2028 CIP. <br />Mission/Policy/Goal <br />Develop a sustainable and prosperous community that reflects the culture of its citizens. <br />Attachments <br />■ 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan <br />A IR <br />
