Minnesota State Arts Board
FY 2024 Arts Experiences
Program Overview and Application Instructions page 6

Deadline
Applications must be submitted to and accepted by the online WebGrants system BEFORE
4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023.
Application review
All Minnesota State Arts Board FY 2024 grant applications will be reviewed by a team of
individuals who have experience in the arts or in nonprofit management. Each review team will
be designed to mirror the state’s geography and demographics.

The review process will also include a public review meeting; applicants will be able to listen via
phone or watch via Internet.
In order to increase demographic and geographic fairness, funding priorities have been set for
the Arts Experiences grant program. The intent is to help ensure that applicants from priority
groups are able to equitably access public funding on behalf of their communities. The three
priority groups include:
• Individuals who are Black, Indigenous, or a person of color; or
Organizations in which Indigenous people or people of color comprise 50 percent or more of
the board and staff.
• Individuals with disabilities; or
Organizations in which individuals with disabilities comprise 50 percent or more of the board
and staff, and/or organizations that primarily serve people with disabilities.
• Individuals who live in greater Minnesota, or
Organizations located in greater Minnesota.

Grant funds will be allocated based on reviewers’ scores and funding targets for priority groups.
Priority group applicants will receive a percent of the grants awarded that is equal to or greater
than their percentage of the applicant pool.
Applicants must meet a predetermined minimum score for all review criteria in order to be
considered for funding.
For questions or help
An application summary is on page 7; the application instructions begin on page 8. Please refer
to these sections for detailed information.
For questions about eligibility or the content of the application, please contact:
Jamie Marshall or Rina Rossi
ArtsExperiences@arts.state.mn.us or (651) 539-2671
For questions about the technical aspects of the application forms, or questions about
submitting the online application, please contact:
Justine Pearson at
apply@arts.state.mn.us or (651) 539-2663
For accessibility inquiries, please contact:
Annick Dall-Desbois at
Annick.Dall-Desbois@arts.state.mn.us or (651) 539-2651
All staff members can be reached toll-free at (800) 866-2787 or through Minnesota Relay 711.
