�i <br />Elk River --�- <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Sara Youngs —Administrations Director <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />November 14, 2023 <br />6.01b <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Office walk-in traffic for October consisted of 149 customers, averaging 38 customers per <br />week over the 4-week period. <br />• ERMU red tag notification count for October under the Cold Weather Rule. <br />o Cycle 3 — 22 <br />o Cycle 4-9 <br />o Cycle 1— 8 <br />• Our credit & collections specialist ran the processes to separate the assessable amounts <br />from all applicable accounts. Our accounting department then prepared the final <br />spreadsheets with those amounts for presentation in the commission packet and to be <br />sent to the city. This process really is a collaborative effort every year. <br />• Minnesota Department of Revenue approved two additional metro county area sales <br />and use tax rates that went into effect on October 1, 2023. Counties impacted: Anoka, <br />Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington. <br />• The administrations director and general manager continued discussions with Frontier <br />Energy regarding Frontier's proposal for their professional services to maximize ERMU's <br />conservation efforts in reaching the required kWh energy savings mandated by the <br />State of Minnesota. <br />• Administrations director will be attending the American Public Power Association's <br />Customer Connection Conference in San Antonio, November 12-15, 2023. <br />• Currently there are five active residential solar photovoltaic projects planned or under <br />construction in the ERMU service territory. <br />• The downtown Elk River trick or treat event was a spooktacular success despite the <br />frigid weather. <br />• In the last 30 days, combined the level two charger located downtown and in the <br />parking lot in front of ERMU had 33 sessions and provided customers with 514 kWh of <br />green energy. <br />• The ChargePoint EV charger that was no longer operable located at Coborn's (19425 <br />Evans Street) was removed and restoration of the site was completed on November 2. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />136 <br />
