Economic Development Authority Minutes <br />August 21, 2023 <br />Page 3 <br />The Commission recessed at 5:47 p.m. and reconvened in work session at 5:48 p.m. <br />9.1 Moyer Properties — TIF No. 26 <br />Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report. He noted there could be some zoning and TIF issues. He stated he is <br />looking for feedback from the Authority. He noted our attorney is comfortable with allowing it but is not <br />sure it meets the intent of the law and would need to check with the state. <br />Commissioner Blesener stated he would like more information regarding the statute and how well the jobs <br />match up to the manufacturing portion of the tax increment financing. He stated he would need to see good <br />alignment. <br />Commissioner Wagner stated she doesn't want to see the TIF tool become abused noting this could set a <br />precedence. She further questioned what guarantees the Authority would have if the company went out of <br />business. <br />Commissioner Grupa stated it would be fair to get Shoot Steel's outlook on the business as well. <br />10.
