27. FAIR PAY POLICY <br />Elk River Municipal Utilities (referred to in this Fair Pay Policy as the "Employer" or the <br />"Utilities") is committed to fair compensation for its employees as explained in this Fair <br />Pay Policy. Specifically, it is the policy and practice of the Employer to accurately <br />compensate employees and to do so in compliance with all applicable state and federal <br />laws. The Utilities will never knowingly fail or refuse to pay an employee the full amount <br />of compensation to which he or she is entitled by law for work performed on behalf of the <br />Utilities. <br />ALL EMPLOYEES <br />Protection of Employee Rights <br />The Employer will protect the right of each employee to receive compensation according <br />to the law. Violations of this Fair Pay Policy, whether by a managerial or non -managerial <br />employee, may result in disciplinary action, if appropriate under the circumstances, up to <br />and including termination of employment. <br />The Employer will not tolerate or allow any form of retaliation against individuals who <br />report alleged or suspected violations of this policy or who cooperate in the Employer's <br />investigation of such reports. Retaliation is unacceptable, and any form of retaliation in <br />violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination. <br />Record Your Time And Review Your Pav Stub <br />To ensure that you are paid properly for all time worked and that no improper deductions <br />are made, you must record correctly all work time and review your paychecks promptly to <br />identify and to report all errors. <br />The Employer makes every effort to ensure that its employees are paid correctly. <br />Occasionally, however, inadvertent mistakes can happen. When mistakes happen, the <br />Employer will promptly make any corrections necessary to provide you with the pay to <br />which you were entitled and as otherwise required by law. To assist the Employer in its <br />efforts, please review your pay stub when you receive it to make sure it is correct. If you <br />believe a mistake has occurred or if you have any questions, please use the following <br />procedure. <br />How to Raise a Question or Concern about your Pay or a Payroll Deduction <br />If you have questions about your pay or any deduction from your pay, please immediately <br />contact your supervisor/manager. If you believe your paycheck has been subjected to an <br />improper deduction or that the pay you have received does not accurately reflect the <br />compensation you are entitled to for your work, you should immediately report the matter <br />to your supervisor/manager, the Finance Manager, or the Payroll Specialist. <br />31 <br />June 2023 <br />61847929v4 <br />109 <br />
