Elk River Park and Recreation Commission March 13,1996 Page 3 . RAILROAD TRAIL CROSSES COUNTY ROAD 1. COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. COMMISSIONER DAVE ANDERSON MOVED THE FOLLOWING CHANGES TO THE MASTER PARK PLAN: 1. ADJUST MAPS C-1.2 AND E-1.1 TO REFLECT THE REVISED NEIGHBORHOOD PARK PLAN. 2. ACCEPT STAFF'S RECOMMENDATION ON ADDITIONAL TRAILS IN THE NEW URBAN SERVICE AREA WITH ADJUSTMENTS MADE BY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION. 3. ACCEPT STAFF'S RECOMMENDED PARAGRAPH BE ADDED TO THE "PROPOSED TRAIL SYSTEM" SECTION OF THE PLAN (PAGE 107): COMMISSIONER TUTTLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 8.5 Harold Gramstad, Lions Park Development Harold Gramstad, representing the Lions Club, updated the Commission regarding improvements to Lions Park. . 7. Area Recreation Update - Jeff Asfahl Lana Huberty, Park & Recreation Commissioner, updated the Commission for Jeff Asfahl. The "March For Parks" will be Saturday April 20, 1996. The Commission suggested a Police escort. Commissioner Donais suggested to hand out information to the walkers regarding Woodland Trails Park. 9. Discussion of Available Park Funds Phil Hals, Street/Park Superintendent, stated the park dedication fund balance is $102,305 with $45,500 of that amount committed as grant match for the Shiely park purchase, leaving a balance of $56,805. Other park fund balances include: $19,400 for the park trail reserye, and $51,150 for the park equipment reserve (less $1 0,500 for 1996 mower aerifier purchase). 10. Discussion of Cass Property Development The Park & Recreation Commission continued their discussion on the development of the Cass Property. Commissioner Olson suggested to meet with all the youth organizations regarding the players fee. The Commission discussed constructing only softball and baseball fields and to take soccer out if they are not willing to contribute. . Commissioner Tuttle left at this time 9:50 p.m.
