<br />Park & Rec :Minutes <br />10/13/95 Continued ...... <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Staff Updates <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Phil Hals updated the Park and Recreation Commission on the Cass property project <br />(165th and Jarvis Street). Phil stated that the project is moving forward and will be <br />in front ofthe Planning Commission in November and the City Council in December. <br />Staff is requesting input on field needs from youth organizations for this project <br />ASAP. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER MADSEN MOVED TO SUPPORT THE PURCHASE OF <br />THE CASS PROPERTY FOR A FUTURE ATHLETIC COMPLEX. <br />COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />Phil Hals presented the Barrington Park addition item. The question is whether or <br />not to expand the park. The price on this land is being negotiated. Staff recommends <br />pursuing the purchase of this land at a very modest price. The Park and Recreation <br />Commission agrees to pursue this issue further. <br /> <br />Phil Hals stated that the park equipment for Lion's Park is moving forward. Chair <br />Dave Anderson stated that he would like to make sure the equipment is installed <br />firmly on the site. The Park and Recreation Commission is requesting an installation <br />plan, site location, and footing plan, for this equipment before it is installed. <br /> <br />Also stated, a new citizen spotted vandals in an Elk River park stealing the blue <br />containers. Police did catch the responsible party. The citizen is questioning <br />whether or not a reward is offered for this information. The Park and Recreation <br />Commission is suggesting that we make an issue of this incident by paying the <br />citizen a reward and putting it in the paper to deter future vandalism. Staff <br />suggested that the felon do community service to pay for the reward. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Hoisington Update- Phil Hals will get back to the Park and Recreation Commission <br />at a later date on this item. <br /> <br />Commissioner Donais suggested coming up with a logo for the Park and Recreation <br />Board to put on all board projects. <br /> <br />12. Adiournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COMMISSIONER TUTTLE MOVED TO <br />ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER DONAIS SECONDED THE <br />MOTION.
