<br />Park and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />April 12, 1995 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Trail installations <br />Heritage Landing <br />Schoolview Addition <br /> <br />3,000 <br />1,000 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />*NOTE: Phil Hals will supply a map of trails to be paved in Oak Knoll Park. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DANA ANDERSON MOVED TO ACCEPT THE LIST OF PARK CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS AS SUBMITTED. COMMISSIONER OLSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />10. Park Reservation Update <br /> <br />Phil Hals gave a brief introduction and explained the concerns expressed in a <br />memo sent to him by Receptionist Kristy Mansfield. After a brief discussion, it was <br />the consensus of the Park and Recreation Commission do the following: <br /> <br />1 . Continue with the system of deposits for reservations and the policy of no <br />fees for shelter or park use. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Add a sentence to the citizens park reservation for explaining that "in <br />order to keep park costs low and avoid charging fees for shelters use, <br />users are encouraged to pick up their trash, and, if previous users did not <br />clean up their trash, please do so at least enough to make the area <br />usable and report the problem to City hall on the next business day". This <br />will reduce the need for a park staff person on duty on weekends. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Continue the policy of "residents only" for park or shelter reservations. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4. To be consistent with a policy of fee deposits from all groups including <br />Community Recreation Board $100; Lion's Club $100; and Rotary Club <br />$100. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the group to send these recommendations on to city staff <br />along with a thank you to KristyMansfield for the information that she collected. <br /> <br />11 . MnDOT Plantino Partnership Update <br /> <br />Phil Hals gave a brief update on the planting partnership relating the following <br />information: <br /> <br />1. The scheduled planting date is May 6, 1995. <br />2. One Boy Scout Troop is doing the snacks and lunch. <br />3. Planters will include two 4-H Clubs, one Boy Scout Troop, and a student <br />group from Salk and Vandenberge Junior High Schools. <br />4. City street/park workers will prepare the planting beds and coordinate the <br />materials on the day of planting. <br />5. The news media will be contacted to give the youth groups some public <br />exposure. <br /> <br />. <br />
