Discuss Future Park Needs - Steve Rohlf

Steve Rohlf explained to the Park and Recreation Commission the philosophy that
he used to plan for future recreation needs for the City of Elk River at a time of
total development, and to look at the big picture of the area wide needs as it
relates to athletic fields that are provided by School District 728 now and in the
future. Steve then explained the formula used to calculate the needs of youth
and adult softball, little league baseball, youth football, hockey, tennis, and
soccer.

Steve Rohlf then asked the Park and Recreation Commission for input regarding
the present needs and usage of fields and how they compare to the national
averages. With all this information at hand, the Park and Recreation
Commissioners discussed each sport and made projections of future needs.

.
