<br />Park & Recreation Commission Meeting <br />September 15, 1993 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />issues are road alignments, fairground land needs, and park property <br />versus Park Dedication Funds. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Park and Recreation Commission that the <br />developer provide at least three acres of park property in the <br />southeast section of the Lakoduc property, south of county Road #30. <br /> <br />A lengthy discussion was held on the possibilities for the future of <br />the County fairgrounds. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the group that a legal opinion be requested to <br />determine the possibility of the City selling or trading dedicated park <br />property. <br /> <br />A priority of the Commission is that the City acquire the parking lot <br />that lies between the softball complex and the county fairgrounds. <br />City staff will maintain contact with the County Coordinator and the <br />County Board to allow for further discussions. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lipetzky left at this time (8:20 p.m.) <br /> <br />4. Report by Jeff Asfahl - Guidelines for Usage of 728 Area Play Fields <br /> <br />Jeff presented the proposed guidelines for the use of the recreation <br />fields for the Park and Recreation Commission's review. He requested <br />that the Commission give this document some consideration and be <br />prepared to make additions or corrections so as to give this document a <br />formal acceptance at the October meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Jeff Asfahl explained the 1993 expenditures and the proposed 1994 <br />budget. <br /> <br />Jeff explained the 1993 Recreation programs and number of participants. <br /> <br />The <br />and <br />for <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission complimented Jeff for a <br />well run programs and invited him to return on October <br />the review of the guidelines document. <br /> <br />good report <br />13, 1993, <br /> <br />5. Discuss Civic Center Proposal <br /> <br />Phil Hals informed the Commission that the map that his staff prepared <br />of the Civic Center proposal has recently been altered and he has not <br />received a copy of the most current plan. He also stated that he did <br />not feel the Park and Recreation Commission has much to discuss until <br />the most current plan is made available. <br /> <br />Pat Klaers stated that the City Council is looking at funding a <br />community survey to determine the local support for a civic center. He <br />questioned if the Park and Recreation commission was interested in <br />being involved in the survey and, if so, the Commission members should <br /> <br />. <br />
