These have a life span of 15-20 years <br />and serve as a troubleshooting tool during outages to pinpoint locations. <br />• The bore crew started installing wire in late April. They picked up a few small carry-over <br />jobs from the winter and are currently working on the 500 MCM underground from <br />Station 14 to Highway 10 and Main Street which is part of the new feeder to Otsego. <br />• Crews are working on maintenance issues discovered during the mapping and <br />equipment checks this winter. These maintenance items involve changing out electric <br />cabinets due to rust or damage from vehicles and changing out electric components <br />that are found to be heating or malfunctioning. <br />• Joe Schmidt from Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) was here April 4-5 <br />conducting safety training on confined spaces and safe excavating and trenching. <br />• Matt Schwartz, Alex Paschall, and Jon Wadsworth attended substation school in <br />Brainerd, hosted by MMUA on April 4-6. <br />• ERMU crews wrapped up tree trimming on April 28. <br />• The Due North Carwash three phase service was energized in April. <br />• Dan Plude and Curt Arndt attended inventory training held by National Information <br />Solutions Cooperative in Oronoco, MN, April 18-20. <br />• Lund Storage Facility on Twin Lakes Road near 171s' Lane was energized in April. <br />• Crews are currently working on removing the old McDonald's service and installing a <br />temporary service for construction of the new building. We plan to install the new three <br />phase permanent service in July. <br />• Eighteen MMUA safety staff members were here on May 2 to train their coordinators <br />on evaluating pole top and bucket rescue. Our staff performed rescues for them to <br />evaluate. We received many compliments on the new field services building. <br />Page IofI <br />178 <br />
