<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />DECEMBER 8, 1975 <br /> <br />Special Meeting 7:45 <br /> <br />Opening of bids for storm sewer project only one bid received that being from A.H. Johnson Co. <br />Total bid 6977.00 <br />Bid submitted on per ft basis $9.50 per ft and figured on 700 feet. Lowering of culvert across <br />Meadowvale 327.00 Total may vary because of per ft basic project to commence as soon as possible. <br />th <br />Storm sewer to run from Meadowvale south on Albany to 189 St then west to Boston and connect <br />with present storm sewer. <br /> <br />Dec 8, 75 8:05 <br />Being in possession of a duly signed petition from Twp residents the Twp Clerk called to order a <br />special Twp meeting. <br /> <br />Nominations were opened for Chairman. Frank Madsen being the only person nominated he was <br />appointed Chairman. Project explained by engineer as follows: <br />Culvert under Meadowvale Road to be lowered to reduce ponding effect. <br />th <br />Storm sewer line to be layed from culvert south on Albany to 189 then west to Boston and <br />connected to present storm sewer. Due unavailability of 10 in perforated pipe 8 in would be used <br />and cost difference to be reflected. <br /> <br />Motion by Mary Gappa to give Twp Board approval on project. Seconded by Jim Goble – carried. <br /> <br />There was suggestion that gates might possibly be installed under Meadowvale and the railroad <br />tracks to the north to help cut down on water flow. No action taken. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 <br /> <br />Dec 8, 75 8:40 <br />Special Meeting <br /> <br />A special meeting was conducted to determine payment of storm sewer project in Westwood. Bid <br />was 6977.00 on per foot basis could run higher. <br /> <br />Motion by E Specht to asses each of the 10 benefited lots $500.00 and Twp to pay balance of <br />project. Assessment period to run for 10 yrs. With option to prepay in full. Second by E Rathbun. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />Full payment must be made 30 days after certification of project approx.. Feb 2, 76. <br /> <br />Motion by E Rathbun seconded by E Specht to award contract to A.H. Johnson. Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by E Specht seconded by E Rathbun to waive waiting period on performance bond and <br />insurance certification. This motion was on the recommendation for engineer due to weather <br />conditions. Carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
