<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />APRIL 1, 1974 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Chairman Franklin Madsen. The first order of business was <br />discussion of roads with MR. Brentesens son. Also he had bills for work to present. Next Clarence <br />Mordal came with a request to have gopher bounties paid by the Township. Some discussion was <br />carried out. Earl Schulke moved seconded by EL Specht that a notice be put in the paper <br />announcing that this matter will come up at the May meeting. So carried. Dan Lucas asked if the <br />Board had considered the name changes he presented earlier. The matter was discussed about <br />Ridewood Drive, Island View Drive, Simonet Drive, Riverview Drive. Frank Madsen called for a <br />nd <br />motion to have a public meeting April 22. Earl so moved seconded by EL Specht. Motion carried. <br />nd <br />Notice to state that there will be a special meeting April 22 at 7:30 PM to discuss possible changing <br />of some street names in Elk River Township. <br /> <br />Laurence Kreger asked about moving a mobil home to sanitary land fill. Earl Schulke moved <br />seconded by EL Specht that Elk River Town Board go on record as not being opposed to the <br />granting of Mr. Kreger’s request subject to county approval. <br /> <br />Earl moved seconded that by Everett Specht that Laurence Kreger be granted permission to have a <br />30 foot trailer for security watchman. Motion so carried. In the May meeting the matter of dog <br />control will be discussed. <br /> <br />EL Specht moved seconded that 6 signs be purchased and put up on Tyler Street. These to be 30 <br />MPH so carried. Earl moved that the clerk get $25.00 over and above meeting fee for each meeting <br />starting with the March meeting. Seconded by EL Specht. So carried. Earl moved that authorization <br />be given to town council to obtain an attorney general opinion concerning control of dogs. <br />Seconded by EL Specht so carried. <br /> <br />Everett Specht moved seconded by Franklin Madsen that the resignation of Earl Schulke be <br />accepted so carried. <br /> <br />Due to the above motion the Town Board does declare a vacancy. The remaining two supervisors <br />and clerk to choose a successor to Earl Schulke for one year. A motion was made and seconded that <br />Poor Funds be transferred to R&B. So carried.
