An estimated 148 acYes of wooded land will be cleaYed to allow foY construction of the PYoject. <br />Based on historic aerial photography appro�matelyr 62 of those wooded acres used to be cultivated <br />for agricultural production through 2005, after which the land was left uncultivated and naturally <br />developed into its curYent state. It should be noted that many of the trees onsite are fallen, damaged, <br />or in poor condition. A tree preservation plan `vill be submitted to the CityT of Elk River for approval <br />prior to commencing construction. <br />2.4.1.6 Historic Properties <br />Information `vas requested and received from the ��innesota Historical SocienT State Historic <br />Preservation Office (SHPO). Upon conducring a search of the i��innesota Archaeological Inventor�T <br />and Historic Structures InventoryT, no previously known archaeological sites or historic <br />properties/structures were identified within the same sections or adjacent sections of the proposed <br />project The proposed project `vill have no direct or indirect adverse impacts to archaeological sites <br />or historical properties. SHPO also submitted written comments during the public comment period <br />stating there are no records of historical significance. <br />2.4.1.7 Visual <br />There is a large open water area that was formerlyT a pit resulting from past mining operations <br />present within the Project site. This water body is currently landlocked within private propertyT and is <br />not visible to the public from existing Rights-of-WayT. Development of the Project will avoid <br />impacting this area to the extent feasible and will provide scenic views of the water bodyT `vithin the <br />future neighborhood from roads, sidewalks, homes, and yTards. <br />The completed Project will not create any significant visual nuisances such as intense light pollution <br />or vapor plumes. Visual impacts `vill consist of nighttime lighting consisting of streetlamps and �Tard <br />lights ty-pical of residenrial development and required for public safenT reasons. <br />2.4.1.8 Air <br />Statlonary Source E�isssons <br />The Project is not anticipated to result in anyT temporaryT or permanent stationaryT sources of air <br />emissions. There are no e�sting permitted air facilities or sensitive receptors `vithin the vicinityT of <br />the pYoposed Project. <br />TTehicle Emissions <br />The pYoject will Yesult in an incYease to local traffic. This will Yesult in an incYease to local vehicle air <br />emissions. A number of recommended improvements to the public roadwayT net�vork have been <br />included within the Traffic Impact Analysis Report. Examples include adding dedicated turn lanes to <br />intersections and reevaluating posted speed limits to aid in traffic circulation and reduce stationaryT <br />idling times. <br />Dustand Odors <br />Dust common to construction and earth moving practices is expected (in the form of fugitive dust) <br />during periods of dryT `veather. Dust `vill be visuallyT monitored and recorded in conjunction `vith the <br />
