ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING JUNE 7, 1971 The meeting was called to order by the chairman Earl Schulke. Application by Richard DeMars was discussed no actions needed. Earl reported that John Olvier hasn’t established the Meyer road as yet. Dale Borgquist and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rhode appeared to see what the Burns Town Board had to say what was to be done on road near Twin Lakes. A motion was made and seconded that Fred Brentesons bill be allowed. Motion carried. Miss Barbara Smith appeared to see if she could get some assistance from the Town Board. She said she needs help in room also medical. She was instructed to get a medical report for the Board and also to see what she can get in regard to rent. The Burns Town Board appeared. First Earnest Koehler mentioned that the road east to Ted Bank’s should be graveled. A motion was made by Frank seconded by E Specht that our board gravel above mentioned road. The motion carried. The Town Board agreed that our board will no do anything until the Burns Board gets a court decision. Everett Specht made a motion seconded by F Madsen that nothing be done till the court decision be settled. Motion carried. A motion was made that the Town Board th retain the law firm of Douglas Bell Donlin Schultz and Peterson Wafesha at 5 St. St. Paul Minn 55/02 on a time basis at the rate of $25.00 per hr not to include traveling time the land firm to serve at our discretion. Motion seconded by E Schulke. Motion carried. A motion made by F Madsen seconded by E Schulke that Firemen be granted a beer license for duration of Sherburne Co. Fair in 1971. Motion carried.
