The main findings
identifyT the vision of the high`vayT to become a free`vayT styTle corridor `vith grade separated access points. This
Yemains consistent with previous plannings efforts surYounding the 171 s` Focused Area Study but fuYtheY extends
the free`vayT concept easterlyT to meet the visioned free`vayT styTle highway corridor through rnoka County.
Since last reviewing a draft of the studyr in August of 2022, the report has been modified to more closely represent
and address concerns raised during the continued public engagement period. The largest change incorporates a
communityr supported option on the north end of the studyr are preserving access at 171s` Avenue and 173Ta
Avenue. We recognize that MnDOT staff has their suppoYted option which is also included in the final report
`vhich identifies closure of these access points.
We held an Open House on llondayr February 6 to present the final dYaft of the study to the communityr. There
`vere about 35 residents/business o`vners `vho attended, manyT of whom `vere involved in August of 2022 `vith
conceYns about the daft study at that time. The consensus at this Open House was that of appYeciation for
listening to feedback and incorporating a communitr supported option in the final studyT.
Financial Impact
None
Mission/Policy/Goal
Meet Changing Needs - Agile
Attachments
■ HighvayT 10 Corridor Study — Executive SummarT
The Elk River Vision
A 2aelcolning conlnunity 2aitb T evolutiona y and spizzted T esou cefulness, exceptional
sevice, and colnnunity engageynent that encouages and inspiz•es pTopezty.
rowREo er
V
Updatel• January 2023
