City of Elk River Design Standards <br />Materials <br />1. The materials used in this work shall be new, conforming to the requirements of the referenced <br />specifications for class, kind, type, size, and grade of material as specified below and other <br />details indicated in the contract. <br />2. Watermain pipe shall be ductile iron pipe Special Class 52 and shall conform to the requirements <br />of A�WA C151 (ANSI A21.51). <br />3. "Hydrafinder" hydrant locating de�rices, as manufactured by RoDon Corporation, shall be five <br />feet in length and furnished with a°flat" steel mounting bracket and the MIL SPEC spring <br />mount. <br />4. Pipe bends and fittings to be furnished with fusion bonded epo�y external coating and interior <br />lining and shall conform to the requirements of AWWA C550 and C116/A21.16, with 6-8 mil <br />nominal thickness. All pipe bends and fittings shall be restrained with Series 1100 Megalug <br />mechanical joint restraint fittings as manufactured bv EBBA Iron, Inc. or equal. ALPHA single <br />bolt (grip ring) restrained joints, or equal may be used in lieu of lug mechanical joint restraint <br />fit�ings. All nuts, bolts, and �ie rod type restraints shall be stainless steel. <br />5. All pipe and fittings shall be furnished with cement mortar lining meeting the requirements of <br />A�X�`Y�A C104 (ANSI A21.4) for standard thicl�ness lining. All interior and exterior surfaces of <br />the pipe and fitting shall have a tar or bituminous seal coating at least one mil thick. Spott�� or <br />�in seal coating, or poor coating adhesion, shall be cause for rejection. <br />6. Bod�- shall be 3/8" carbon steel ASTM 285, <br />Grade A. Flange shall be AWWA C207 Class D, ANSI 1501b drilling. Gasket shall be grade 60 <br />concave wedge gaskets. Bolts and nuts shall be high strength low alloy steel, AWWA C111, <br />ANSI A21.11. <br />Model 662 shall have the following characteristics. Bod�- shall be full circumference band, 18-8 <br />rype 304 stainless steeL Flange shall be AWWA C207 Class D, ANSI 1501b drilling, epo� <br />coated finish. Gasket shall be Grade 60 concave wedge gasket. Bolts and nuts shall be 18-8 type <br />304 stainless steel. <br />7. Service Pi�es and Fittin�s <br />A.
