Request for Action <br />To Item Number <br />Parks and Recreation Commission 7.1 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Action Item anua 11, 2023 Warren Ellin voYth, RecYeation CooYdinatoY <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />2023 Park Rental Fees iVlichael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Pormer, Ci T Administrator <br />Action Requested <br />Discuss the Yental fees foY 2023. <br />Approve, byT motion, rental use fees. <br />Background/Discussion <br />At the December 8, 2021, Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, Commissioners discussed and approved the <br />updated 2022 shelter and pavilion rental fees. <br />No`v that the pavilion is open at Orono Park, staff are noticing a trend `vith the rentals and are proposing <br />additional changes to what was approved in 2021. <br />Staff recommends changing the daily rate at Shelter #3 (next to the playground and the splash pad) from $60 to <br />$70 for residents and $100 for non-residents. <br />Staff also Yecommends the Yemoval of the damage deposit at the new Orono PaYk Pavilion. We have learned that <br />people aYe hesitant to rent this because of the up-fYont cost of the damage deposit when they can Yent Shelter #3 <br />and not pay a damage deposit.
