<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER REGUALR MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 8, 1913 <br /> <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Village Council was held on Wednesday evening October 8, 1913, at the <br />office of Charles F. Furman. <br /> <br />Present: Charles F. Furman President, E.E. Scott, F.M. Plank, Ed Keagan Trustees, W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk. <br /> <br />Visitor: B.L. Hall <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed. <br />John Hamlet – street sprinkling - $10.00 <br />John Hamlet – gasoline- $11.00 <br />The Western Supply Co. – lead - $1.10 <br />Geo. E. Parsons M.D. – med attendance for transient - $2.00 <br />John Blocker – street worker - $6.75 <br />William D{illegible} – street worker - $12.37 <br />E.J. Keagan – street worker - $24.75 <br />A.A. Ofritz – gravel for street - $21.70 <br />R.E. Dare – funeral for Christenson - $19.45 <br />B.L. Hall – sale of city weigh{illegible)- $69.00 <br /> <br />The Indian Refining Co. of St. Paul MN applied for permission to construct an oil storage tank <br />along side of Ry north of Blocks one (1) two (2) and three (3) between Oak and Ferry St. <br /> <br />On motion permission was granted. <br /> <br />Harry Thorpe man of NW Telephone Co. asked permission to construct a tool house at the rear of <br />Babcock Building size 6x10x6 high. <br /> <br />On motion said request was granted provided said Co. would cover tool house with gal min also <br />that it should not raise to rate of insurance on nearby property. <br /> <br />A petition was received signed by E.J. Keagan and C.J. Johnson asking for vacation of street at <br />nd <br />Orono {illegible} part of the 2 St commencing at the S.E. {illegible} of Blk. (10) and running a <br />nd <br />westerly direction the full width of 2 St to the west line of Sec. 33 Town 33 Range 26. <br /> <br />On motion Peterson accepted and notice4 of hearing order published in Star News. <br /> <br />A petition was received signed by J.L.A. Nickerson {illegible} Bensemarn and Carrie Ausfos asking <br />for vacation of a certain Street as follows said street {illegible} on the west by Blocks (15) and (16) <br />on the east by Blocks (21) and (17) {illegible} so much of said {illegible} as lies south of the south <br />line of Third St of said Village shall be vacated. <br /> <br />On motion petition accepted and notice of hearing order published in Star News. <br /> <br />
