<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 28, 1910 <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the office of the Bank of Elk River. <br /> <br />Members present; Salter, President, Pollard, Virgin, Carr, trustees, O.J. Whitman, recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the president at 7:10 p.m. Minutes of the last meeting was read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />A petition signed by over fifty resident voters of the Village of Elk River, having been filed with the <br />recorder of said village, ?raying that a special election be called for the purpose of voting upon the <br />reincorporation of the Village of Elk River under the general law as provided for in Chapter 9 of the <br />revised laws of Minnesota for the year 1905. <br /> <br />Therefore, be it resolved that a special election be held in G.A.R. Hall in the said Village of Elk River <br />th <br />on the 10 day of January 1911, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. of said day for the <br />purpose of voting for or against the reincorporated of the said village of Elk River pursuant to the ?ayer <br />of said petition and the statues in such case made and provided. <br /> <br />On motion of Pollard and seconded by Virgin the above resolution was adopted. <br /> Resolved further that <br /> Pollard Whitman <br /> Virgin Plummer <br /> Plank <br />Be and the same herby are appointed Judges and Whitman and Plummer as clerks to act at the said <br />election. On motion by Virgin seconded by Carr, was adopted. <br /> <br />On motion by Pollard and seconded by Virgin the recorder was instructed to have all necessary tickets <br />for the general and special elections printed. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were audited and on motion allowed: <br />128 – Walter S. Booth & Son – blanks for Village use - $3.19 <br />129 – M.K. Iliff – extra time as night watch - $5.00 <br />130 – Lee S. Laback – 2 days work drying hose setting lamps pasts and cleaning sewers - $4.75 <br />131 – N.D. Trumball – Peace Officer on election day - $1.60 <br />132 – J.E. McBride – running and attending to fire engine - $2.00 <br />133 – P.H. Blanchette – meals for transients - $70 <br />134 – P. Wicktor Co. Treas. – 10% of liquor license of 1910 - $200.00 <br />135 – Standard Oil Co – gasoline, December 2, 1910 - $4.88 <br />136 – Standard Oil Co. – gasoline November 29, 1910 - $3.66 <br />137 – O.J. Whitman – phone calls frgt & expenses paid - $39.99 <br /> Recorder’s fees rent light heat etc. - $35.00 <br />138 – Harold Kearps – lamp lighting for December - $20.00 <br />139 – M.K.
