<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 29, 1910 <br /> <br /> <br />The Common Council met at Whitman’s office. <br /> <br />Members present: F.L. Salter, President, B. Carr, J. Virgin, L. Pollard, trustees, O.J. Whitman, <br />recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />First order of business minutes of last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />Second order of business was considering the amount of the liquor license. On motion it was placed <br />at two thousand dollars by a unanimous vote. Ordinance No.57 regulating the sale of intoxicating <br />liquor was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br />Third order of business was the application of M.C. Blanchette for license to sell intoxicating liquor <br />having been daily published for two weeks in the Sherburne County Star News. Was read and on <br />motion by Pollard and seconded by Carr was granted. <br /> <br />Fourth order of business M.C. Blanchette bond for two thousand dollars of National Security <br />Company, was approved on motion by Pollard and seconded by Virgin. <br /> <br />Application of E.C. Ward for license to run two pool and one billiard table was considered at $15.00 <br />each table, on motion by Virgin seconded by Carr was granted. <br /> <br />Application of J.C. Hulbert for license for two pool tables and one box ball alley on motion at <br />$15.00 each by Pollard and seconded by Virgin was granted. <br /> <br />On motion by Virgin seconded by Carr the following names were ordered placed on the list and the <br />recorder was instructed to modify M.C. Blanchette, Will Nelson, Henry Holt, Geo Foley, Chas <br />Ospus, H. Kline, Joe Hulbert, Oliver Anderson. <br /> <br /> <br />No further business adjourned carried. <br /> <br />O.J.
