<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 2, 1928 <br /> <br />The Regular Meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Monday, April 2, 1928. <br /> <br />Present – Thomas E. Beck, President, Geo Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, E.E. Scott, Trustees. W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the new President at 8:30 P.M. <br /> <br />This being the beginning of another year the matter of appointing committees and employees for <br />the ensuring year was in order. <br /> <br />On motion duly made seconded and declared carried, the following were duly lected for their <br />respective positions. <br /> <br />William Gliff Marshal and Pumper Salary 110.00 per month <br />H.T. Melgaard milk inspector 25.00 per year <br />W.H. Clements street form. No salary <br /> <br />The President appointed Trustee George Cornelius and E.E. Scott committee on Streets and <br />Sidewalks. <br /> <br />Committee on Waterworks being the whole council. <br /> <br />The following persons were elected Board of Health <br />Dr. Geo E. Page Chmm. 3 years <br />Dr. A.B. Roehlke 2 years <br />L.L. Bishop 1 year <br /> <br />Elmer Jones, proprietor of the new Café, asked the Council to install an electric light in front of his <br />place. On motion his request was granted. <br /> <br />C.E. Booth presented his bond as Justice of Peace on motion same was accepted. <br /> <br />Mr. Fred Nickerson came before the Council and asked the privilege of using the fire hose to flush <br />out his water tiling. The Council appointed Fire Chief Fred Ayers to attend to the same. <br /> <br />On motion made and seconded and declared carried it was decided to purchase 500 feet of new fire <br />hose. Geo Cornelius, Trustee, was appointed a committee to look after the purchase of same. <br /> <br />The Clerk was instructed to draw warrants each month for all salarys and fix bills without the actions <br />of the council. <br /> <br />The Clerk was also instructed to order 6 bbls. Of tarvia same to be shipped by truck. <br /> <br />On motion the following bills were allowed: <br /> <br />
