<br />\[the written minutes say 1927 but I believe they meant 1926\] <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 4, 1927 <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council was held on Monday Oct 4, 1927 at the Library Room. <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, Geo Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, Elmer Scott, Trustees, W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock PM <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />Toltz Kreig and Day Co Engineers for survey of sanitary sewer system as per agreement 100.00 <br />W.H. Clements street work 67.25 <br />W.A. Patenaude painting curb for parking 12.10 <br />Fred Ayers reading meters Oct 5.00 <br />E.R. Fire Depmt attending Bargabor fire 15.50 <br />E.R. Meat Market goods for Mrs. Dawson 4.46 <br />E.R. Power and Light Co repairs st. lights 4.70 <br />H.R. Caley Hdw mail handle .45 <br />Star News printing 7.00 <br />Thelma Ebner Saly. Dept ½ month 6.50 <br /> <br />This meeting as advertised for a Public hearing to discuss the question of additional street lighting <br />known as a white way. <br /> <br />Mr. L.G. Nelson of the E.R. Power and Light Co submitted his proposition as to cost and <br />operation. After some opinions were given by the visitors a motion was made to lay the matter on <br />the table for future consideration. Motion declared carried by the Pres. <br /> <br />In regard to the water frontage tax money to the amount of #23,000.00 now being carried by the <br />First National Bank alone without and special security and said money will not be used to pay Water <br />Works Bonds for several years it was deemed advisable by the Council to make some other <br />arrangement in regard to it. The following Resolution was presented to the Council and upon roll <br />call ordered by the President unanimously adopted. <br /> <br />Resolved: That the Village Treasurer be authorized to transfer one half of the money now on <br />deposit in the First National Bank to the account of Frontage Tax to pay bonds with the same to be <br />transferred to the Bank of Elk River provided: That said Bank of Elk River secure said deposit by <br />Bonds to the full amount of said deposit. <br /> <br />Also, to secure the amount of balance of said Frontage Tax now on deposit with First National <br />Bank the said Bank shall secure the same by Bonds to the full amount of said deposit. <br /> <br />Said bonds to be accepted by the Council clerk was instructed to notify the Treas. of this action <br />immediately. <br /> <br />
